It's been a long time since I posted for Sexy Snippets, it feel like forever. It's good to be back writing again. So I'm writing again. Captive is the 4th book in the Challenge Series. This story is slightly different from the first 3 books.
First it's not about the original 3 friends that started the series. This is Anuli and Tope's story. Tope is chief of security for Park Hotels and Anuli is Tessa's best friend. You met both of them in book 3. Many of you wonderful readers wanted Anuli's story, so here we go.
Secondly, this story is more of an erotic suspense than a romance. It's a little on the dark side. At this moment, I don't know if the characters will get a HEA or HFN, so we'll see.
Anyway, on to the snippet. In this scene, Anuli is meeting with a gun dealer, Bosco. I'm not going to give you spoilers but let's say she has plans to deal with her past. It's still a first draft. I hope you enjoy the snippet.
“Am I the first woman to buy a gun from you?” she asked, a little irritated. If he didn’t want her money, she’d find someone else. The only problem was that her time was short and she needed the gun today.
He lifted his gaze slowly, nonchalantly, amber eyes pinning her in place.
“You’re not my first,” he spoke in English that made her breath catch both from its perfection as well as its innuendo. He gave her body that lazy sweep again that made her pulse pound and her panties wet.
“You...” she shook her head and licked her lips, unable to form words as her heart raced.
